Two stories, six months apart, provide devotional at prayer breakfast

I gave the devotional at the Thursday morning prayer breakfast at my church last week.
I didn’t put anyone at Vineville United Methodist to sleep – or back to sleep since it was 7:30 a.m. – so I guess the mission was accomplished.
Hopefully, I gave them some spiritual nourishment, too.
I didn’t read a Bible story or preach a mini-sermon. I didn’t have to search the New Testament for a parable or find a lesson from Joshua or Second Samuel.
Actually, I had two stories from the Book of Gris. I had written in the last six months. They were about the swift and heroic actions of two people from Macon, and I brought them together in my message.
